-Haus of Gloi – Splediferous whipped soap: This is my favorite HOG product. I tried to make it last as long as possible, and was really sad when it was gone. The texture is creamier than some of their other whipped soaps. It reminds me of soft butter. The smell is like a sweet cake. I used to dislike baked goods scents, but lately I’ve really enjoyed them. I really hope HOG brings this back one day!
-Fortune Cookie Soap - Off With Their Heads bath bomb: Loved this for the bath. It made the water a light rose scent, and was really moisturizing. A little pricey (although they say it can last for more than one bath, this is NOT the case for me), so I'm careful to be selective with FCS.
-Lush – Violet Nights bath oil: I love how this product moisturizes my skin. Surprisingly, it also makes quite a lot of bubbles. (More than some of Lush’s bubble bars!) I have mixed feelings about the scent. Sometimes it smells lovely, and sometimes it smells a bit like a wet dog. I think the longer the oil is in the water, the more “wet dog” scent I get from it. I know that sounds really strange, but I can’t describe it any other way. I really loaded up on these when they were stocked in the kitchen, so I still have three more to get through. However, I don’t plan to purchase it again because there are so many other EXCELLENT smelling bath oils out there.
-Lush – Coolalin conditioner: The smell is amazing, but the formula doesn’t work well for my hair. It left it tangled, and didn’t feel soft. I wouldn’t recommend for dry, curly hair.
-H2O – pumice scrub: This is a great foot scrub. It does a wonderful job exfoliating my feet. It also took forever to use up. I found this one at TJ Maxx, so the price was great, but I haven’t seen one in a while. Whenever I do, I’ll be sure to pick up another bottle.
-Eos – Lavender Vanilla shave cream: No foam, but gives a good lather. Leaves my legs silky smooth.
-Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Balm in Berry: These products are amazing. They keep my lips hydrated while adding a little color. Berry is the darkest color option, but it isn’t too dark at all. It’s sheer, so it works well any time. I highly recommend trying any of these if you haven’t yet.
-Shiseido - Ultimune serum: One of my favorite skincare products! I can't recommend this highly enough. It's lightweight, yet very moisturizing. It also lasted a long time for me, which made up for the cost. I'll always have this in my routine.
-Tarte - face wipes: My absolute favorite!! These smell so good, and work really well. I use them all the time.
-Tony & Guy - Cleanse shampoo: Just ok. It smelled lovely, but my dry hair needs a lot more moisture. I felt this shampoo stripped it by being too cleansing.
-Lush – Bom Perignon bath bomb: While it turned the water a nice light pink color, I didn’t get any scent out of it at all. Up close, it smells like citrus (grapefruit, specifically). But in the water the scent gets lost. It fizzed out super-fast, and was all around disappointing.
-Lush – Avo bath bomb: This bath bomb makes the water a bright green, and smells of fresh lemongrass. It fizzes out really quickly, but leaves a lot of nice skin softening oils for you to soak in. One of my favorite bath combos is this bath bomb plus Not Soap Radio’s Joy Inducing bubbles. The smell is SO good!
-Lush – Granny Takes a Dip bubble bar: I love this bubbler!! Sometimes Lush says you only need half the bar, but I often find half a bar to be insufficient. However – I can actually split this bar in two and have ample bubbles. It makes the water a dusty rose color, and the bubbles last a decent amount of time. The citrus aspect of the scent really comes through, too. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ll keep buying.
-Lush – Ultraviolet bubble bar: Another favorite. This bar is HUGE and is definitely sufficient for two baths. It makes the water a gorgeous silver shimmery purple. The smell is like Violet Nights, but I like it more. I’m definitely going to miss this, as it was my last one.
-Lush – Green bubbleroon: This turned the water a brilliant green, and the smell is a faint citrus. The oils in the bar made my skin very soft. The only con is that it didn’t create a lot of bubbles. If you’re looking for bubbles, this is not your bar.
-Side note: While reading in the tub, I asked my boyfriend to please get me another beer. (I’m so classy;)) When he walked in, he looked like a deer in headlights, handed me my beer, and slowly backed out of the room. He was so concerned as to why my tub was radioactive green!! Haha.
-Klorane shampoo with desert date: This had a very light, earth-like smell. It also worked well with my curly, dry hair. I plan to buy a full size to switch up my routine.
-Fortune Cookie Soap – Mermaid Lagoon aloe whip: I love this stuff! What a brilliant idea to mix aloe with lotion. It’s perfect for my post-shower moisturizing after a day at the beach. I stocked up with another of this scent, and also Wendy Bird. I highly recommend trying this before they’re sold out at FCS. Of course, you could always just mix aloe with your favorite lotion for a homemade aloe whip!
-Fortune Cookie Soap – Hollywood Dreams shampoo bar: This scent is AMAZING! It reminds me of fresh baked apple pie. However, shampoo bars do not work for me. I never purchase them, knowing that it won’t work for my hair, but when FCS sent this sample in the fall soapbox I figured I’d give it a try. No matter how much I rubbed it in (even transferring from my hands), there was zero lather. I know other people love shampoo bars, but unfortunately they just aren’t for me.
-Fortune Cookie Soap – Fudderwacken body wash: I enjoyed traveling with this product. It had a fun, fruity scent and the color definitely stood out.
-Davines - Ol shampoo: I was very pleased to receive this in a Birchbox mystery sample pack. It's a great travel size, and is very moisturizing. I plan to incorporate this into my routine to mix things up.
-Kerastase - Elixir Ultime: Great product. It made my curls really soft, and I appreciated the light scent.
-Skin & Co Roma - Truffle serum: This is an excellent serum, but I prefer the Shiseido Ultimune. I still highly recommend trying it if you haven't already.
-Fortune Cookie Soap – Scandal bath powder: liked that it made the bath water milky, but I didn’t get much scent from it. The sample was just too small for my big tub.
-Josie Maran – pure argan milk: Not a fan. The scent was off-putting, and it wasn’t as nice as my favorite (Kiehl’s) face oil.
-Dior - One Essential serum: Not for me. At this price point, I expected to be amazed. This product didn’t do anything special for me. To be fair, it’s hard to get a sense of how well a product works after only one use. I think certain products really require more than a single foil.
-Kiehl's - Cucumber Herbal alcohol-free toner: This product is really messy. I applied with my fingers, which might be the problem. Again - not impressed. I'm so set with skincare that nothing really wows me anymore.
-Kiehl's - Creamy Avocado eye treatment: This is really moisturizing, but I swear it makes my dark circles worse. I'm not sure how it's possible, but I'm avoiding this from now on.
